The two-hour finale of Stranger Things, released in the evening of New Year’s Eve, fueled Netflix to its most views ever on a New Year’s Day. The streamer would not reveal how many those views were but announced that the fifth season of the supernatural series delivered 31.
Netflix revealed the release date and trailer for One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5, a behind-the-scenes documentary.
After four-and-a-half seasons of questions prompted by “Stranger Things,” in Volume 2 of the show’s fifth and final season, creators Matt and Ross Duffer offered answers aplenty, while also setting up the potentially tragic stakes of the series finale.
The scene is one of several tear-jerkers in the second volume of episodes, released on Christmas Day. In addition to a whirlwind of emotional sequences, the back half of the season is finally beginning to provide some answers about the Upside Down and the evils that Hawkins has been facing this whole time.
The popular theory that Stranger Things will ultimately include time travel is not new; it certainly didn’t originate with Stranger Things 5. Show producer and director Shawn Levy said the show would reference Back to the Future in Stranger Things 3.
