Multiple tornadoes hit central Oklahoma, causing power outages and property damage in Purcell. A Tornado Watch remains in effect for parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. Authorities warn of more severe storms across the Mississippi River Valley.

Debris and damage were found after a tornado touched down Thursday morning in Purcell. Around 7:30 a.m., radar confirmed tornado debris near North Fourth Street east of Highway 77. KOCO 5 Field Meteorologist Michael was in Purcell shortly afterward, showing some fences knocked down and limbs on the ground.

The National Weather Service has been busy Sunday, issuing a number of alerts and warnings regarding severe weather around the country. Included on that list are several tornado watches. Parts of four states are under a “Tornado Watch,” according to the NWS Storm Center in Norman, Oklahoma. They are Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Missouri.

Multiple buildings were damaged when a reported tornado tore through a central Illinois community on Sunday afternoon.
