Household battery recycling locations Lead-acid batteries, or “automotive type batteries,” are banned from disposal. Consumers may bring lead-acid batteries to any Wisconsin retailer that sells these batteries for recycling. This service is free to customers who buy a new battery. Customers may be charged a fee if they bring in a used battery without buying a new one.
I've had both batteries replaced (with the correct models), done a 100 mile trip, overnight smart battery charge, charging voltage is fine, system messages cleared but I am still getting "low battery charge" and no start/stop. Anyone got any ideas on what to try next?
Hello everyone, I just bought my first car, a 2014 Volvo V40 T3, and a warning appears on the dashboard that says 'low battery charge.' The car is recently...
The battery voltage was still 11.9V. I started the engine again while measuring, and this time the voltage briefly rose to 13.4V, as if the battery was charging. But after about 30 seconds, it dropped back down to below 12V. Today I wanted to check the sensor readings with my diagnostic tool from AUTEL and the fault was disappeared.
The system shuts down to preserve battery charge. For your own peace of mind you could check the battery readings with an OBDII adapter (battery level %, alternator current etc)
So I think the time has come to replace the main battery. Its the original Volvo 70ah EFB battery that was on the car from new in 2016.. The car starts fine but I keep getting the "Low Battery Charge" warning and the start stop isn't working, even after charging the battery. The voltage when...

Battery is easy to do yourself if you're at all handy around a screw driver and a spanner, just remember to reset the battery management system before you start using the car or it'll kill the lifespan of the battery. You don't need an AGM type battery if it's a manual transmission but you do for the automatic, according to Volvo.
The low battery charge message relates to the main battery. On vehicles with stop/start systems and intelligent alternators, the vehicle battery is designed to operate at around 80% SOC, to provide capacity to store regenerative alternator charging between stop/start events.
